Watering Systems & Garden Irrigation
At Colin Green’s Landscaping services we install and repair Watering Systems & Garden Irrigation. Whether you need a microjet spray type system, drip irrigation system or a pop up lawn watering system we can set up the correct system to ensure you have a system that will help your garden grow and thrive.
Automated Watering Systems
We can automate any type of watering system & garden Irrigation installation. From a simple battery operated controller to a multi line controller that runs from a few lines to 100 or more.
Most gardens run from between 6 to 12 lines and one controller unit can operate them all. An automated system can come on a number of times a day, once a week, fortnight or month, what ever suits your garden best.
Automated systems also give you the ability to reduce or increase watering times as the seasons change, this is a time and water efficient way to ensure your garden always has enough water to survive and thrive.
Internet Connected Controllers
The new Internet connected controllers connect to local weather stations and use the data, along with your own settings, to tailor your watering to the changing conditions. These controllers will water more on hot days, less on colder days. They will pause watering after heavy rain or very windy days to ensure your system is only watering the garden when it needs it.
The controller can also detect faults with valves and leaks in the system and send you an email if there is a problem. These controllers can be programmed and controlled from your smartphone, tablet or computer and give you the ability to run your system from anywhere in the world via the internet. This is the future for home garden irrigation.
We can advise you on what type of system or controller is right for your garden, budget and needs.
We also provide the right advice for how long and how often you need to water to make sure you don’t waste water and promote the wrong types of growth in your plants. Many people don’t know that over watering can lead to weaker plants and excessive weed growth.
We also have the back up of our preferred watering system parts supplier, Aqua Pro, who keep us up to date with the latest products and information ensuring we have the right product and advice for every situation.
source Above is a typical Microjet style sprinkler. These are ideal for garden beds and cover a large area from each sprinkler head. There are many variations of this type of sprinkler and we Colin Green’s Landscaping services can choose the correct type for your garden.
source Above is a Pop up lawn sprinkler. These are used for watering lawns. When the water is turned on the water pressure pushes the sprinkler up through the lawn and the water sprays and covers the lawn. When the water is turned off the sprinkler head slides back down into the body of the sprinkler and disappears from view, also protecting it from the lawn mower when the lawn is being mowed. There are many types of pop up sprinklers and they can be installed in any configuration to cover any size and shape lawn.
Above is a Drip Irrigation watering system. There is a small hole in the pipe and the water can be seen coming from this hole. The pipe has many of these holes in it, spaced at 300mm intervals. These systems are used differently from sprays. They are usually installed under the mulch in the garden and left on for a longer period of time. The pipe is installed to cover the whole area of the garden. Each hole slowly soaks an area and with many holes doing the same the garden is watered evenly and deeply. The main advantage of these type of systems is there is little or no evaporation of the water, so they are more efficient than sprays.
