Garden Renovation in Davidson
This garden renovation in Davidson was a garden in an overgrown state with lots of weeds. In the garden was a small area paved with sandstone flagging and paths paved with the sandstone. The gaps between these stones had been filled with a small red gravel. This gravel would have looked good when new, but had become full of dirt and weeds and was difficult to keep clean.
After consultation with the owners it was decided to remove most of the plants and start with a new planting scheme. The main feature of the planting was to make a small hedge to go around the paved area to make it more private and a place where the owners could sit and enjoy a drink under the shade of the Golden Robinia tree. The owners liked ornamental grasses, so a number of them were incorporated into the planting scheme. The emphasis was to use mainly Australian native plants.

The gravel was to be raked out from between the flagging stones in the paving and the paths and replaced with a mortar mix to make the paving more solid and easier to clean, with no need for weeding in the future.
The garden was cleaned out and compost was added to the soil.
When all the preparation work had been done the final jobs were to plant the plants and lay the mulch. The mulch used was Pine Bark Mini Nuggets. The final result was a beautiful unique garden done with an Australian native theme that was designed around the owners ideas and likes. The paved area and paths are now much more useable and easy to maintain.
